    How To Make Fluffernutter

The fluffernutter is so uniquely all-American, that people elsewhere may never have heard of it. The sandwich consists of that sweet sandwich staple, peanut butter, mixed with the slightly unnerving jarred cotton-like substance that is “marshmallow fluff.” Insanely sticky and sweet, this substance is like whipped clouds in a pot.
The temptation to plunge finger into pot is overwhelming, but be warned, this extraordinary substance makes hands tacky like nothing else. It also has an unnerving ability to reform to its original shape over time, even though you’d never see it moving if you were to stare at the open pot for hours. It was invented by a man called Archibald Query, who sold the idea to two war veterans; they later went on to make the fluff stuff famous.
    Makes 1
    INGREDIENTS
2 slices white bread (the cheap “plasticy” kind works best)
Peanut butter (crunchy or smooth, the choice is yours)
Marshmallow fluff (also called marshmallow creme)—available from various outlets, including some supermarkets, grocery stores, and online

Spread 1 slice of bread with peanut butter and spread the other slice with marshmallow fluff. Do not attempt to spread one on top of the other; this never works. Sandwich together and eat, with sticky fingers.
