These burgers are a little unusual but are something that your vegetarian guests will enjoy.
Ingredients
2 X 400grams Tinned Chickpeas Drained
2 Teaspoons Ground Cumin
1 Teaspoon Ground Coriander
2 Green Chillis Chopped
2 Garlic Cloves
½ Small Bunch Spring Onions
1 Teaspoon Salt Flakes
2 Tablespoons Plain Flour
1 Pack Halloumi Diced
Pitta Bread To Serve
Houmous To Serve
Lettuce To Serve
Pickled Chillis To Serve
Instructions
1. To make the burgers place the chickpeas, cumin, coriander, chillis, garlic, spring onions, saltflakes and flour into a food processor and blend. Tip this mixture into a bowl then add to it the diced Halloumi.
2. Now divide up into 6 equal amounts and create 6 burgers. Place these on to a clean plate andput in to the refrigerator to rest whilst the barbecue is heating up.
3. Once the barbecue has heated up remove the burgers from the refrigerator and before placingon the barbecue lightly oil the grill. Then cook each burger for 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until they have turned a golden color.
As soon as the burgers are cooked remove from the barbecue and serve with the pitta bread thatyou have warmed through on the barbecue along with some of the Houmous, lettuce and pickled chillis.
